Our Legal Team

Our Principal & Managing Attorney is Arnold (Arnie) Mordkin. He has an extensive and varying legal background. He finished his academic undergraduate degree, BA in Political Science, at the University of Southern California. He obtained his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Southern California, School of Law, where he became a member and editor of the University of Southern California Law Review and graduated in the upper percentage of his class.

After completing his JD degree, he went back to law school and obtained a post-graduate certification in Medical-Legal studies. He then served as a Judge of the Northern Orange County Judicial District and achieved the position of Assistant Presiding Judge. He also served as a Judge Pro Tem and Arbitrator-Mediator for the Orange County Superior Court. He has served as the Managing Principal of several medium-sized law firms.

His experience also includes being an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Irvine University School of Law and an Associate Professor of Law at the Western States College of Law. He came to the Roaring Fork Valley over two decades ago and has practiced law with an emphasis on criminal defense of all types of cases ever since. He has tried several hundred trials and has ample experience defending clients accused of criminal activity ranging from DUI to sexual assault to homicide.

Arnie has won multi-figure economic verdicts for injured clients and has successfully presented cases before the California and Colorado Supreme Courts. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Colorado, The Supreme Court of California (inactive), and several Districts of the United States District Courts. He is also a former Chief Deputy District Attorney for the 9th Judicial District of Colorado, in charge of managing the Aspen Office of the District Attorney.

Nowadays, he has resumed his private practice of law and can call upon his vast experience in the legal profession and his many contacts and colleagues to serve each of his clients with individual and undivided attention.
